Miranda House in a nutshell!

Miranda house, the ideal college for every girl in India. Sky-high cutoffs here at MH, ensure that each and every girl who gets in is a beauty with brains. "Mirandians" as we like to call ourselves, have known to make their mark in each and every field. Sheila Dixit, Mouni Roy, Nandita Das, Anita Desai are few of the proud Mirandians. Our college has made history by attaining the 1st position in NIRF (National Institute Ranking Framework) ranking by MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) for two consecutive years. Miranda House is rich in cultural diversity. Students come from all over the world and bring with them the essence of their own culture. And, Miranda house gives every culture and every student a platform to bloom and flourish. These are things that everyone knows about, here I am to tell you something that no one knows about, my own personal experience in Miranda house.

The day I got the call from Miranda house, my parents were very excited, but I was a bit doubtful coming from a co-ed school to an all girls' college. Millions of thoughts were racing through my head. However, keeping all my insecurities at bay, I grabbed the opportunity with both hands and took admission in one of the most prestigious colleges in India. And, this turned out to be my best decision so far.
I took admission in Zoology honors, which I am telling you is no doddle. I had changed a few colleges before MH. So, my first day was around 10-15 days after the orientation programme. The classes had already started and in fact, one unit was completely finished.
My first day was nothing like a dream come true, we had a continuous evaluation test on that day, but me being a warrior from the science background, tackled it with my previous school-level knowledge. And, to my surprise, I actually performed quite satisfactory in the test. 

 Soon, I got accustomed to the tradition of Miranda House of taking tests every week or so. At one point in time, we used to have so many tests that we attempted a few even without studying.  Anyway, studies, assignments, tests, exams, mocks are an integral part of any science course and especially at Miranda. Our college is a complete school like experience, it feels like you haven't still graduated high school. 
Though, our college was also filled with fun activities. Every other day, some event was conducted in the Nescafe lawns. We have received a lot of promotional gifts from different companies and clicked so many weird and cute selfies at those events.

Our college fests were one of the best on campus, the reason being the stars, the arrangements, the activities, the stalls, the food, the decor. Everything was close to perfection during the fest season! Literally, it is a season, that spans over one and half month approx and the ultimate season of all times! Every other college has their fests during this season, but the most exciting ones that we fanatically look forward to is SRCC (Crossroads), MH (Tempest), Hindu(Mecca) and KMC(Renaissance). 


In conclusion, I would say Miranda House has given me an experience of a lifetime, and I can never thank the college enough! These memories will be cherished forever. There are still a lot of untold secrets but some things are better left unsaid...

School memories, Key to gaiety

Life is an alluring novel, uncovering a new story with each chapter. One of the most important chapters that we never forget is our school life. School experiences have been different for different people, but one thing common amongst all the experiences is the enthusiasm to grow up.
